The Dispatch

Stephen King is not clowning around with classic horror remake blowing up big screens  I liked this story in particular because I have read the book "IT" and seen the original films from the 1990s. I think the young actors and actress were well chosen in the film. I agree with all of the opinions that are presented in this story.  3 Last minute costume ideas   This article had 3 clever, fast, and easy costume ideas in it. I enjoyed the humor in the first paragraph, "Most of us are dead inside already, so the only other step is to get wrapped up." I liked this humor because I make jokes like that one a lot.

Sharon Jameson is happily buying groceries while wearing her favorite shirt. Sharon has been wearing this shirt in public to see people's reaction of the ugly truth.  Agnes Adams is using her resources wisely, to smoke one last time before she can no longer breathe on her own. She has been smoking since she was a wee little girl. The twin sisters, Beth and Bessie Riverbanks are going for a little swim, when you get to their age, there are sacrifices you have to make. They have been planning on doing this for around fifteen years, and now they are ready for their final swim.

Africa and Abandoned Theme Park Assignment

Image
Africa  1. When I read through the article, "Awaiting Animals: Casting East African Wildlife 'In a State of Being", I was amazed at how much work Nick Brandt put into this project. He really captured the beauty of the different animals, and risked his life taking photos of others. In his photos, I liked how the subject was in the middle of the frame, and if there were multiple subjects, they were evenly in place.  2.  3. This picture is my personal favorite because it is very balanced, clear, and edited beautifully.  4. One of the rules of photography present in this assignment is balance because the elephant is perfectly centered, and the land and sky in the background are fairly calm.  5. Nick Brandt uses a Pentax 67II with two fixed lenses, that don't zoom in. He used lenses that don't zoom to get a portrait of the animal, instead of zooming.  6. He took those pictures because he is showing the animals state of being. He is showing th

Warm-up & Mural Project Planning

1. When I saw the first picture of the couple, I was happy, but as I scrolled through the pictures, I was slowly becoming more sad, until the end where I cried. 2. I think that when the photographer said, "These photographs do not define us, but they are us", I really thought about what he said. I realized that those photographs are who the wife was, since she is not alive anymore, and the husband was a different person in those photographs as well, and that is who they are and were. 3. I think that if I were in this situation I would be able to take photos of what is happening to see each stage of cancer and how they changed overtime. 4. If I could write Angelo a letter, I would not say "sorry for your loss" or anything like that, because I know that is not what he wants to hear. I would tell him that I respect his work a lot, and it really captured how cancer, and treatment hurts the human body.

Mural Project Preview

1.  One of my themes for the photos is taking nature pictures, such as plants, grass, trees, etc. I would also want to take pictures of peoples eyes, because eyes are so complex. My final idea would be to take pictures of the city, just around Austin. 2. When I am out shooting, I need to think about the rules of photography, as well as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. If I do not think about those things then I will not take good photos. 3. If we were to put the mural on the internet, we could put it on each of our group members blogs. That way everyone can see the photos. We could also put our photographs on Instagram, or any social media. We can make a specific account for photography so that nothing personal is involved, besides our names.

Great Black and White Photographers part 3

Image
I see a tree that looks like it is blowing in the wind. I smell the cool mountain air. I hear the wind hitting the tree. I taste the fresh air. I feel peace and comfort. I see a mountain and a river. I smell the water and cool air from the high altitude. I hear the water running. I taste the clean air. I feel calm and cold. I would make a powerpoint and show off Ansel Adams photographs and life achievements. I could also make a poster and put some of his photos, and some fun facts about him on it.

Camera Sim practice

Camera Sim Practice  (In all of the photos, I used ISO 200, lighting as sunny, and focal point 43mm) 1/15  sec     f4.5 - The photo taken was very blurry because of the slow shutter speed, very bright.  1/30 sec      f4.5- The photo taken was less blurry than the first one due to the shutter speed being faster, a little less bright than the first.  1/60  sec     f4.5- This photo was almost perfect, the shutter speed was faster and that made it become clearer, less bright.  1/125 sec    f4.5- The pinwheel was still a little bit delayed in this picture, but the girl is clear.  1/250 sec    f4.5-  The photo was better, each time the shutter speed is faster, the picture is clearer.  1/500 sec    f4.5- The photo was darker, but more crisp.  1/1000 sec  f4.5- This photo was very dark, seemed as if the sun was setting.  1/15 sec      f5.6- This photo was extremely bright.  1/30  sec     f5.6- This photo was still bright, but the subject was visible in i

Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO

Image
Aperture   A photo with f/2.8 aperture  A photo with f/25 aperture  1. The part of the body that we should closely relate aperture is the face.  2. The smaller the aperture, the higher the f number, the higher the aperture, the lower the f number.  3.  The higher the aperture, the subject is focused on more, and everything else is blurred, therefore the depth of field is shallow.  Shutter Speed  Slower shutter speed  Higher shutter speed  a) I would use a slow shutter speed if I were to take a picture of a booth in the middle of the courtyard because I can imagine how crowded it would be.  b) I would use a slow shutter speed if I was near a food booth, again, because of it being crowded.  c) I would use a higher shutter speed if I was taking pictures of the silver stars performing in the gym to focus on one of the dancer doing a leap or some cool dance move.  d) I would use a slower shutter speed to take a picture of the people
